Bilal is a 17-year-old Kurdish refugee trying to get to England from Calais. Simon is a middle-aged swimming instructor dealing with a separation and trying to stay indifferent to the plight of refugees in his city. They meet when Bilal decides to take swimming lessons in order to swim across the English Channel.
